HAO XIANG CHI SEAFOOD RESTAURANT GROUP S/B in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant HR Manager to oversee the full spectrum of human resources functions, ensure compliance with employment laws, and drive HR initiatives across the business.
You will manage recruitment, payroll, performance reviews, staff records, and employee relations, leading a small team and collaborating with management to align HR with objectives. Proficiency in Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
The Assistant HR Manager is responsible for supporting and managing the full spectrum of Human Resources functions to ensure efficient HR operations and compliance with company policies and employment regulations. This role works closely with management and department heads to drive HR initiatives, employee engagement, and business objectives.
Manage the full recruitment cycle, including manpower planning, job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, selection, and onboarding
Coordinate new employee orientation and probation reviews
Develop recruitment strategies to attract quality candidates
Oversee monthly payroll preparation and verification
Ensure accuracy of attendance, overtime, allowances, commissions, deductions, and statutory contributions
Manage salary reviews, increments, bonuses, and other compensation matters
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, counselling, and conflict resolution
Conduct domestic inquiries and disciplinary procedures where necessary
Coordinate performance appraisal exercises and monitor employee performance and development plans
Maintain employee records and HR documentation
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of HR experience with exposure to the full spectrum of HR functions
At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience is an advantage
Good knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act and other labour legislation
Experience in payroll processing and statutory compliance
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Able to maintain confidentiality and work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR/Payroll systems
Strong organisational and time management skills
Able to communicate effectively in Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia.
