Job summary

HOMA ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD in Kuala Lumpur City Centre is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our people strategy in a full-time capacity. You will shape HR initiatives, act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, and drive scalable programs aligned with business aims.

You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, compensation, employee relations, and compliance with Malaysia's labour laws, while building a positive, productive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years HR experience, with at least 2 years in management.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws and regulations.
• Experience in recruitment, talent management, and compensation administration.
• Ability to develop HR policies and drive organisational effectiveness.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels.
• Leadership capabilities to mentor HR team.
• Proficiency in HR information systems and MS Office.
• HR professional certification (CHRP/CIPD) desirable.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing is advantageous.
• Mandarin, Malay and English communication abilities.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team at our Kuala Lumpur City Centre location on a full-time basis. This is a strategic role that will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing our human resources strategy across the organisation. As HR Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources operations, from recruitment and talent management to employee relations and compliance. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure our HR initiatives align with business objectives and contribute to a positive, productive workplace culture. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on organisational success through effective people management and strategic HR planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and policies that support business objectives and promote a positive workplace culture
• Oversee the recruitment process, including job profiling, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and selection to build a high-performing team
• Manage employee onboarding, training and development programmes to ensure staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for their roles
• Administer compensation, benefits and payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies
• Handle employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements applicable in Malaysia
• Maintain and manage HR records, documentation, and information systems with strict confidentiality
• Lead HR initiatives related to employee engagement, workplace health and safety, and retention strategies
• Provide HR guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters
• Monitor HR metrics and produce reports to support data-driven decision-making

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of professional HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR management or supervisory role
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian labour laws, employment regulations, and best practices in HR management
• Strong expertise in recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and compensation administration
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures that drive organisational effectiveness
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the organisation
• Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to manage and mentor HR team members
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Professional HR certification (such as CHRP, CIPD, or equivalent) is highly desirable
• Experience in the engineering or manufacturing sector would be advantageous
• Able to communicate with Mandarin, Malay and English.
