Job summary

Ormond Hotels Group in Sandakan, Sabah seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily operations across rooms, laundry and public areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

You will supervise staff, allocate tasks and rosters, inspect guest rooms and public areas, handle guest requests, and train the team on SOPs, safety and service recovery, coordinating with Front Office for guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in Housekeeping, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Proven supervision experience and guest service recovery.
• Knowledge of laundry operations, linen control and inventory management.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Stability and reliability in previous employment.
• Comfortable using Opera Cloud PMS, POS and hospitality technology.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily Housekeeping operations and team activities.
• Allocate tasks, rosters and monitor team attendance, grooming and performance.
• Inspect guest rooms, VIP rooms and public areas to maintain cleanliness and hotel standards.
• Handle guest requests, feedback, complaints and Lost & Found matters.
• Monitor linen, amenities, equipment, supplies and monthly inventory.
• Conduct quality inspections and follow up on maintenance issues.
• Train and coach Housekeeping team members on SOPs, service standards and safety procedures.
• Work closely with Front Office and other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain shift handovers, daily reports and communicate operational issues to management.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety requirements and Ormond's standards.
• Act as Housekeeping Manager in their absence when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager and Management.

Job description

The role of the Housekeeping Supervisor is to schedule, assign, supervise and assist in the upkeep of all housekeeping operations on the floor assigned to you to the highest standard of cleanliness and maintenance. To assist in any assignment within the department promptly and whenever necessary. This role covers and oversees the laundry, rooms and public area, landscape, cleanliness of pool and gym.

What Will You Do?

Who Must You Be?

• Calm, proactive and hands-on, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and team development.
