Job summary

Sunway Hotel Big Box in Malaysia is seeking a senior Sales and Business Development leader to craft and drive annual plans aligned with revenue objectives. You will coach the sales team, monitor market trends, and identify opportunities across corporate, government, MICE, leisure, and travel trade segments.

You will negotiate contracts, expand market penetration, and nurture strategic partnerships while working closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and occupancy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual sales and business development plans aligned with revenue objectives.
• Lead, coach, and motivate the Sales team to achieve KPIs.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities.
• Establish sales goals, action plans, and performance metrics to drive revenue growth.
• Ensure effective sales planning, account management, and pipeline development.
• Identify and secure new business across corporate, government, MICE, leisure, wholesale and travel trade.
• Develop strategic partnerships with corporations, travel agencies, DMCs and clients.
• Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions to secure profitable business.
• Expand market penetration through proactive prospecting and account acquisition.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts to maximize repeat business.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and occupancy.
• Monitor sales performance against budget and prepare forecasts and reports.
• Drive revenue across guestrooms, meetings, events, catering and other streams.
• Represent the hotel at trade exhibitions and industry events.
• Support digital marketing initiatives by identifying sales opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards and departmental policies.
• Prepare and manage the departmental sales budget and keep records in CRM.
