Join the dynamic team at Sunway Hotel Big Box as an Assistant Sales Manager. This full-time role is based in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, and plays a vital role in driving hotel revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.

What you'll be doing

Sales & Revenue Generation

• Identify potential clients and new business opportunities through market research, networking, and sales activities
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals
• Conduct sales presentations, client meetings, and hotel site inspections to showcase the hotel’s facilities and services
• Promote hotel rooms, meeting spaces, dining outlets, and event packages to prospective clients

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and key stakeholders
• Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business
• Handle client inquiries, negotiate contracts, and close sales opportunities effectively
• Maintain regular communication with existing clients to strengthen long-term partnerships

Marketing & Promotion

• Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement effective sales and promotional strategies
• Participate in trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to promote the hotel and generate leads
• Support the creation and distribution of promotional materials, sales proposals, and presentations

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis for the Department Head
• Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the system

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Reservations, Front Office, Events, and other operational departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Support and guide junior sales team members where required
• Assist the Director of Sales in achieving departmental goals and strategies

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in hotel sales, hospitality, or a related customer-focused role
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently and achieve sales targets in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage
• Familiarity with hotel sales systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
• Positive, professional, and results-oriented attitude
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
