Job summary

Birkin International Hotel in Melaka is seeking a Payroll Executive to join our Human Resource team. The role oversees monthly payroll processing, ensures accuracy of salaries, allowances, deductions and statutory contributions, and maintains compliant payroll records.

You will manage employee tax withholdings, liaise with banks and tax authorities, and support HR initiatives such as contracts and staff inductions while upholding data security and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, income tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in payroll software (HR2000).
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organisational abilities and capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Able to work under tight deadlines, particularly during monthly payroll closing.
• Able to handle confidential information with a high level of integrity.
• Reliability and discretion in handling sensitive employee information

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, wages, allowances, deductions and statutory contributions
• Maintain comprehensive payroll records and documentation in accordance with Malaysian employment laws and regulatory requirements
• Manage employee tax withholdings and ensure timely submission of tax returns and statutory reports to relevant authorities
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or payment issues promptly
• Administer employee benefits, including leave management and other statutory benefits
• Ensure payroll data security and confidentiality whilst maintaining accurate employee records
• Liaise with external service providers, such as banks and tax authorities, regarding payroll matters
• Assist with HR initiatives such as employment contracts, staff inductions and employee records management
