Job summary

KANAMOTO & JP NELSON EQUIPMENT (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, service, and maintain a range of equipment including diesel engines, generators, and hydraulic systems. The role covers on-site repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and safe operation in line with company standards.

You should have a Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, servicing, and maintaining various equipment and machinery, including diesel engines, heavy machinery, generators, and compressors. The role also involves inspections, overhauling, functional testing, and on-site repair works, including hydraulic and general mechanical maintenance. Ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repair, servicing, and maintenance of equipment and machinery.


• Repair and maintain diesel engines, heavy machinery, generators, compressors, and related equipment.


• Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, and overhauling works.


• Perform preliminary and final functional checks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.


• Attend to site breakdowns, troubleshooting, rectification, and repair works when required.


• Perform hydraulic system repairs and general mechanical maintenance.


• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.


• Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard of performance, safety, and reliability.


• Maintain proper records of servicing, repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.


• Comply with company safety procedures, maintenance standards, and other applicable requirements.

About you

• Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Machinery, or a related field.


• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in machinery maintenance, heavy equipment, diesel engines, generators, compressors, or related mechanical works.


• Hands‑on experience in troubleshooting, repair, servicing, and overhauling of heavy machinery and equipment.


• Experience in hydraulic systems and general mechanical repair will be an added advantage.


• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.


• Able to work independently and as part of a team.


• Safety‑conscious and able to follow company procedures and safety standards.


• Possess a valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites will be an advantage.


• Willing to travel and attend site repair and breakdown works when required.
