Job summary

Touch ‘n Go seeks a senior sustainability leader to drive the company’s ESG agenda, shaping long-term strategy and climate commitments. You will oversee regulatory reporting, data integrity, and stakeholder communications with investors and regulators in Malaysia.

You will lead a team, manage the ESG programme budget, and coordinate with the Board on risk, opportunities, and sustainability disclosures, aiming for robust governance and transparent reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for senior leadership roles.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Bursa Malaysia reporting.
• Experience engaging with investors and regulators in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the organisation’s long-term sustainability strategy aligned with business objectives and global best practices.
• Advise the Board, CEO & senior leadership on ESG risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
• Champion a culture of sustainability across all levels of the organisation.
• Own and lead the preparation and timely submission of Bursa Malaysia disclosures and other regulatory reports.
• Oversee ESG data collection, measurement, verification and reporting systems across all units.
• Engage with investors, ESG rating agencies, and regulators on sustainability performance.
• Oversee the Annual Sustainability Report and integrated disclosures within the Annual Report.
• Lead climate strategy, GHG accounting, energy and resource management, and net-zero roadmap preparation.
• Manage the sustainability department budget and external consultant relationships.

1. Sustainability Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and lead the organisation’s long-term sustainability strategy aligned with business objectives and global best practices.


• Advise the Board, CEO & senior leadership on ESG risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.


• Champion a culture of sustainability across all levels of the organisation.

2. Regulatory Reporting & Compliance (Malaysia)

• Own and lead the preparation, review, and timely submission of all mandatory sustainability disclosures required under Bursa Malaysia's Main Market Listing Requirements when the company is listed.


• Prepare the company in ensuring compliance with the Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Framework and any updates issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia moving forward.


• Manage reporting obligations under frameworks including but not limited to:


• Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)


• Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards


• IFRS S1 & S2 / ISSB Standards (as adopted in Malaysia)


• Liaise with Bursa Malaysia, the Securities Commission, and other regulatory bodies on sustainability-related matters.


• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements in Malaysia and internationally, proactively adapting the company’s reporting practices accordingly.

3. ESG Data Management & Reporting

• Establish robust ESG data collection, measurement, verification, and reporting systems across all business units.


• Oversee the Annual Sustainability Report and integrated ESG disclosures within the Annual Report.


• Ensure data integrity and where required, coordinate third-party assurance or verification of sustainability disclosures.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Engage with institutional investors, ESG rating agencies (e.g. MSCI, Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good), and analysts on the company’s sustainability performance.


• Build and manage relationships with industry bodies, NGOs, government agencies, and community partners.


• Represent the organisation at external forums, conferences, and sustainability-related working groups.


• Develop and execute the company’s climate strategy, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets and net-zero roadmap I preparation of IFRS disclosures requirement.


• Oversee carbon accounting, energy management, water stewardship, and waste reduction programmes.


• Assess and manage climate-related physical and transition risks in line with TCFD recommendations.

6. Social & Governance Programmes

• Oversee social sustainability programmes including diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI), supply chain sustainability, and community investment.


• Work with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure strong governance practices and ethical conduct throughout the value chain.

7. Team & Budget Management

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sustainability team.


• Manage the sustainability department budget and external consultant relationships.

Who should join us?

• Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.


• A Master degree in Sustainability, ESG, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.


• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility leadership role.


• Mandatory: Demonstrated hands-on experience in regulatory sustainability reporting for a Bursa Malaysia-listed company, including direct ownership of Bursa sustainability disclosure submissions.


• Proven track record in developing and implementing corporate sustainability strategies at a listed company level.


• Experience engaging with institutional investors, ESG rating agencies, and regulatory bodies in Malaysia.


• Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory environment including Securities Commission guidelines, Bursa Listing Requirements, and Bank Negara’s Climate Change and Principle-based Taxonomy (CCPT) for financial sector companies.
