The candidate will work with cross-functional groups to strengthen governance, data accuracy and audit readiness while pursuing ongoing improvements in environmental performance and compliance.
Green Lagoon Technology is seeking an experienced sustainability professional to strengthen the Sustainability function as ESG, environmental-attribute, certification and renewable-energy project activities continue to expand. The successful candidate will work across corporate and project teams on sustainability reporting, ESG data, GHG monitoring and verification, carbon credits, REC/I-REC and sustainability certifications. This role is suited to a hands-on professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent coordination, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.

What we are looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline with approximately 3–5 years of relevant sustainability/ESG or environmental experience. Candidates with practical exposure to GHG/MRV, carbon credits, REC/I-REC, sustainability reporting and/or certification schemes are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong ownership, attention to detail, teamwork, follow-up and the ability to work independently are essential.
Job Purpose
To support the development, implementation and management of the Group’s sustainability and ESG strategy, reporting, environmental attributes, sustainability certifications and related compliance requirements. The role coordinates sustainability data and initiatives across departments and projects, manages environmental attributes including carbon credits and renewable energy certificates, and supports Management in meeting applicable sustainability, regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
This position is intended to strengthen the Sustainability function, broaden internal capability, improve cross-functional coverage and reduce dependency on individual personnel through proper documentation, cross-training and knowledge continuity
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement and monitor the Group’s sustainability and ESG strategies, initiatives, targets and action plans.
2. Coordinate and consolidate Group-wide ESG and sustainability data, including GHG emissions, and ensure proper supporting records and data accuracy.
3. Prepare sustainability reports, management papers and presentations, including information required for senior management, the Board and applicable Bursa Malaysia sustainability reporting requirements.
4. Identify, develop and manage environmental attributes and climate-related opportunities arising from the Group’s projects and operations.
5. Manage Carbon Credits, REC/I-REC, VERs and other environmental or climate-related credits, including the required registration, monitoring, verification and reporting processes.
6. Coordinate GHG measurement, monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) and maintain the necessary supporting documentation.
7. Manage the Group’s sustainability certifications, including RSPO, MSPO, ISCC and other applicable standards, and coordinate audits, documentation and corrective actions.
8. Liaise with consultants, certification bodies, registries, validators/verifiers and other external parties on sustainability certifications and environmental attributes.
9. Work closely with Business Development, Operations, Project, E&D, Finance, Corporate Affairs and other departments on sustainability matters, data requirements and environmental-attribute opportunities.
10. Monitor relevant sustainability regulations, standards and market developments, maintain proper sustainability records and documentation, and perform other related duties as assigned by the Head of Sustainability or Management.
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Sustainable Development or another relevant discipline.
Relevant professional training or certification in ESG reporting, GHG accounting, carbon markets, sustainability certification or environmental management will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in sustainability/ESG, environmental management, sustainability certification, carbon-credit projects, environmental attributes or related functions.
Hands-on experience in sustainability data collection, analysis, reporting and preparation of management or sustainability reports.
Experience coordinating sustainability certification processes, audits and documentation with certification bodies, consultants or verification agencies is preferred.
Familiarity with GHG measurement, monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) processes.
Knowledge or practical exposure to carbon credits, REC/I-REC, VERs, RSPO, MSPO and/or ISCC is highly desirable.
Understanding of relevant Bursa Malaysia sustainability requirements/guidance and sustainability reporting practices is preferred.
Exposure to renewable energy, biogas, biomass, BioCNG or environmental projects will be an added advantage.
