Nitto Denko Materials (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Head of Section/Assistant Manager, Procurement to lead and redefine the procurement function in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role focuses on strategy, governance, and driving value through supplier partnerships.
The incumbent will manage budgets, oversee daily procurement operations, and ensure compliance with local and global standards while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
Restructure the procurement group, develop succession plan.
Plan and develop sourcing strategy to support operation needs with best procurement deals to minimize the business risks.
Plan and manage daily operation of procurement activities to ensure continuous operation efficiency and ensure purchasing activities are in compliance with Global, country and state laws and regulations.
Make VEC plan to achieve management business plan, and monitoring the result.
Establish, monitor and control department budgets and ensure it operates consistently within allocated budget.
Build and maintain good relationship with key vendor and suppliers to minimize business risk, quality issue, 4M changes and others.
Co-work and build up good relationship with other department.
Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with supplier, resolve vendor on contractor grievances and claims against supplier.
Shared service responsibility.
Participate in company activities (5s, Safety, Environment & Energy, Budget Plan, ISO Documentation, etc) as assigned.
Possess Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
8 years related working experience (Supply Chain, Shared Service, Procurement, Audit) with minimum 2 years managerial/supervisory experience is required.
Good communication skills in English, Japanese, and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin and Japanese to effectively communicate with Mandarin and Japanese-speaking clients.
