Private Advertiser in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Group HR Manager to lead HR strategy across the group from our Kuala Lumpur City Centre HQ. This full-time role drives HR initiatives, governance and people development at both operational and strategic levels.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Group HR Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at our headquarters in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. This is a strategic leadership position that plays a pivotal role in shaping the human resources function across our group of companies. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our organisational objectives, whilst overseeing all aspects of human resources management at both operational and strategic levels. This role is critical to driving organisational development initiatives that enhance employee engagement, performance, and retention across the group.
Key responsibilities
Lead and independently manage day-to-day HR operations across the Group, covering HQ, estates and other operating sites.
Manage end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning, including manpower requirements, approved headcount, succession planning and recruitment for business expansion and hospitality operations.
Manage foreign worker administration and compliance, including Immigration matters, work permits, Pas Lawatan Kerja Sementara (PLKS), medical examinations, insurance, renewals, repatriation and accommodation compliance.
Manage monthly payroll and estate checkroll for the Group's plantation workforce, including verification of attendance, work or output records, wage rates, allowances, deductions and payment coordination.
Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and HRD Corp obligations.
Manage industrial and employee relations matters, including grievances, misconduct, disciplinary actions, Domestic Inquiry proceedings, performance-related cases and dealings with relevant employment authorities.
Coordinate performance management, annual KPI and appraisal exercises, probation and confirmation reviews, competency development and succession planning.
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, guidelines and SOPs, while ensuring appropriate HR governance and compliance across the Group.
Manage compensation, benefits and employee insurance administration, including salary structures, employee benefits and reward practices.
Develop and coordinate annual training plans, competency development and learning initiatives, including applicable HRD Corp grant and claim processes.
Drive employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives across HQ and operating sites, supporting effective communication and workplace culture across diverse workforce groups.
Prepare HR analytics, dashboards and management reports covering headcount, manpower movements, recruitment, payroll costs, overtime, attendance, foreign workers, training and employee relations.
Collaborate with senior management, Finance, Estate Management, government authorities and external service providers to address operational requirements and deliver effective HR solutions.
What we're looking for
Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with sufficient experience to independently manage a broad HR portfolio.
Strong hands‑on experience in HR operations, recruitment, payroll, statutory administration, industrial and employee relations, and HR documentation.
Strong knowledge of applicable Malaysian employment laws, industrial relations, payroll and statutory requirements.
Hands‑on foreign worker administration experience, including Immigration processes, work permits, PLKS renewals and related requirements.
Experience in plantation, manufacturing or other labour-intensive operations is strongly preferred.
Experience in estate checkroll and foreign worker accommodation compliance would be an advantage.
Experience coordinating outsourced payroll and benefits providers and working across multiple companies is desirable.
Hospitality or pre‑opening recruitment experience would be an advantage.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of matters from initiation through completion.
Hands‑on and resourceful, with the willingness to execute routine HR administration alongside managerial responsibilities.
Strong prioritisation, follow‑up, analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, including dealings with government authorities and external service providers.
Sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Experience with HR systems, payroll systems and reporting or analytics tools is preferred.
Able to undertake regular estate and operating‑site visits.
