Job summary

Cohu Malaysia is seeking a senior Technical Support leader to direct the Technical Support organization and drive customer satisfaction, product reliability, and business growth. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Quality and Manufacturing to prioritize actions and optimize operations.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, budgeting, KPI oversight, and global customer support, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor test and handling equipment, automation systems, capital equipment, or related high-technology industries.
• Minimum 8 years of management experience in Technical Support, Field Service, Customer Support, Engineering, Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, or related functions.
• Proven experience supporting global customers in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and Sales organizations to achieve business objectives.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and talent development skills; ability to build high-performing teams and succession plans.
• Experience working within global organizations and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Technical Support organization.
• Develop departmental objectives, operational plans and long-term roadmaps aligned with company goals.
• Lead and mentor Technical Support and other leadership personnel.
• Develop succession planning and talent development strategies to ensure organizational sustainability.
• Promote a culture of technical excellence, customer focus, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the highest Technical Support escalation point for critical customer issues.
• Drive executive-level communications with strategic customers during major escalations.
• Ensure customer issues are managed through acceptable resolution while maintaining customer confidence and business continuity.
• Monitor support performance and establish improvement plans to enhance responsiveness and effectiveness.
