A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Global Operations Director to manage large-scale operations in the metal manufacturing industry based in China. The role includes defining operational objectives, overseeing production planning, and leading logistics strategies. Ideal candidates have over 5 years of operations experience and expertise in supply chain management, procurement, and quality systems. Job Scope:
Define annual operational objectives, execution plans, and budgets in line with corporate strategy
Track performance against targets, conduct regular reviews, and implement corrective actions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost control
Oversee production planning and execution at the Huizhou manufacturing base
Implement capacity planning to align output with global market demand
Lead factory layout optimisation, automation initiatives, and productivity improvement programs
Develop and execute global sourcing and procurement strategies
Optimise supplier channels to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and supply continuity
Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers locally and internationally
Lead global logistics strategy to reduce cost and improve delivery efficiency
Manage worldwide VMI warehouse planning and inventory optimisation
Ensure timely order fulfilment through strong coordination between sales, production, and logistics teams
Work closely with sales, R&D, finance, and quality teams to ensure operational alignment
Resolve cross-departmental challenges and strengthen collaboration across regions
Establish clear SOPs for order tracking, issue resolution, and customer feedback
Identify operational risks (supply disruptions, production incidents, logistics delays)
Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity and operational resilience
Ensure compliance with quality systems, customer standards, and regulatory requirements
5+ years of operations experience within metal manufacturing or related industries
Proven track record managing large-scale operations and teams exceeding hundreds of staff
Strong expertise in production planning, supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and quality systems
Hands‑on experience with metal processing technologies including stamping, machining, surface treatments, and post‑processing
