Job summary

Altera is seeking an Application Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to support the Worldwide Regional Applications group. You will work with multiple R&D and design teams and key customers to enable next-generation designs across Agilex device families.

Daily duties include handling escalations, enabling customers to improve designs, participating in cross-functional projects, and developing training materials on new features and methodologies, while staying current with industry practices.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering.
• Excellent working knowledge of RTL-based design flows.
• Good working knowledge of FPGA or ASIC design process and tool flow.
• Good understanding of design methodologies using Quartus tool.
• Ability to solve system level issues.
• Able to work with several teams across sites and domains.

Responsibilities

• Handle key customer escalations from analysis to closure.
• Work with field teams and distributors to help customers improve designs and experiences.
• Participate in development projects, possibly on international teams, and create collateral and reference designs.
• Develop and deliver training materials on new features and methodologies.
• Maintain strong local and international communication and cooperation in a team-based environment.
