Job summary

Altera is seeking an Application Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to join Worldwide Regional Applications. You will collaborate with R&D and customer teams to enable next‑gen designs across FPGA/ASIC families.

You will handle customer escalations, work with field teams and distributors to improve designs, and contribute to development projects and training materials. This role requires teamwork across sites and strong problem solving.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of RTL-based design flows.
• Good understanding of FPGA/ASIC design process and tools.
• Familiar with Quartus design methodologies.
• Able to collaborate across sites and teams.

Responsibilities

• Handle key customer escalations from analysis to closure.
• Collaborate with field teams and distributors to improve designs and customer experience.
• Participate in development projects with international teams and create collateral.
• Develop training materials on new features and methodologies.
• Communicate effectively within regional and international teams.
