Job summary

Altera in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Senior/Staff Applications Engineer to collaborate with customers and Altera personnel across geographies to enable design wins and resolve issues quickly.

You will provide technical support for FPGA features, develop design examples on development kits, and author documentation to showcase key capabilities. Strong communication, debugging, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Independent with strong debugging and analytical skills.
• Experience in FPGA/CPLD technologies, embedded systems, RTL, Verilog/VHDL, C programming or hardware/board debugging.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and training for FPGA features including Embedded IP, processor and flash solutions.
• Develop and validate design examples on development kits to showcase FPGA features.
• Create technical documentation (handbooks, user guides, tutorials, application notes).
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve user experience of FPGA products and solutions.
