Job summary

Altera is seeking an experienced FPGA applications engineer in Penang, Malaysia. You will lead configuration-related development, validation and education efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable next-gen FPGA products.

The role involves hands-on work with FPGA configuration methods, creating tutorials and references, and supporting customers with technical expertise to drive product adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM fields.
• Degree completion documentation may be required.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• 3+ years in FPGA/CPLD, digital logic, RTL, Verilog/VHDL, C and Python, or related areas.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead application pre-enabling, product development, and/or product hardening for future products.
• Engage as technical expert to drive Altera value in configuration enablement.
• Deliver collateral and training for FPGA configuration and programming solutions.
• Drive product improvements to maximize scale adoption and reduce explicit enabling.
• Debug configuration issues, identify root cause, implement corrective action.
• Develop and validate design examples on development kits.
