Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Penang, Malaysia. You will install, service, and repair Lam etch/clean/deposition equipment at customer sites worldwide.

The role requires frequent travel (up to 90%), on-call duties, and collaborative work with customers and internal teams. A bachelors degree or equivalent is required, with willingness to work varied shifts and support overseas assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; no prior professional experience required.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and learn quickly.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage customers on technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Install or relocate equipment at customer sites and perform start-up and cut-over checks.
• Provide on-site preventive maintenance and service for Lam equipment; manage downtime.
• Coordinate service actions with customers to minimize disruptions and outages.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot, and implement corrective actions; replace parts as needed.
• Implement ECO-driven field modifications and updates on equipment.
• Maintain service logs, records, and diagnostics updates accurately.
