Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia invites a seasoned General Manager to launch and lead its Air Freight & International Logistics division from the ground up, building airline and GSA relationships, overseas agent networks, and a profitable trade-lane portfolio.

You will own P&L, budgets, margins, and cash-flow; recruit and manage a high-performing commercial and operations team; establish SOPs, KPIs, and controls; drive sales targets and customer acquisition across international markets.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of air-freight/freight-forwarding experience.
• Senior leadership experience in air-freight.
• Strong KUL airline/GSA connections and overseas-agent network.

Responsibilities

• Personally negotiate air-freight rates, space allocations, block-space agreements and commercial terms with airlines and GSAs.
• Identify and secure large-volume shippers, corporate customers and key accounts.
• Lead the sales and business-development team, establish sales targets and ensure targets are achieved.
• Expand the company's international agent and forwarding network and generate reciprocal cargo.
• Oversee daily air-freight operations, documentation, customs clearance, trucking, warehouse coordination and customer service.
• Monitor shipment performance and ensure cargo moves efficiently with minimal delays, offloads and service failures.
• Take ownership of the company's P&L, budgets, margins, cost control and cash-flow performance.
• Review customer and airline profitability and ensure every major account/trade lane maintains acceptable margins.
• Recruit, develop and manage a high-performing commercial and operational team.
• Establish SOPs, KPIs and internal controls across sales, operations and customer service.

GENERAL MANAGER - AIR FREIGHT & INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS

We are preparing to launch our Air Freight & International Logistics division in Malaysia and are seeking an experienced Managing Director to establish, lead and grow the business from the ground up.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of the setup and commercial development of the air-freight operation, including building airline and GSA relationships, establishing overseas agent networks, recruiting the required team, developing profitable trade lanes and securing key corporate customers.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced air-freight professional who has the industry network, commercial expertise and entrepreneurial drive to build a successful and profitable operation.

About you
