Job summary

HEY ROCKET PTE LTD is seeking a Branch Manager to lead the Port Klang branch of a logistics and freight forwarding business. This senior role covers P&L management, business growth, customer and partner relationships, and day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in international freight forwarding or logistics and at least 5 years in a senior management role, with proven P&L experience in Malaysia. Strong leadership and business development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, logistics, NVOCC, shipping or a related industry.
• At least 5 years in a senior management position, such as Branch Manager, Country Manager, General Manager or equivalent.
• Proven experience managing a business with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong understanding of the Malaysia logistics and freight forwarding market.
• Experience managing teams across sales and/or operations.
• Strong business development and client management skills.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, preferably covering both sea and air freight.
• Good knowledge of local regulatory and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the branch's revenue, profitability, costs and business performance.
• Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue and gross profit growth.
• Lead business development activities and manage key customer accounts.
• Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents and other logistics partners.
• Oversee sea freight and air freight operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
• Build, manage and develop the local team across sales, operations and customer service.
• Monitor customer credit, payment terms, collections and outstanding receivables.
• Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations, customs, taxation, trade compliance and company policies.
• Manage operational costs, business risks and contract-related matters.
• Handle major customer issues and operational risks when required.
