Job summary

Kampung Gym Sdn. Bhd. in Johor Bahru is seeking a hands-on General Manager to oversee daily operations across all branches, ensuring departments (Marketing, PT, HR, Operations, Cleaning) function cohesively and KPIs are met.

You will lead teams, drive performance, organize events, manage budgets, report to the Director, and uphold high standards of service, safety, and member satisfaction. English and Bahasa Malaysia fluency is required; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in team leadership and operational management.
• Experience in Marketing, brand promotion, event planning, or membership sales is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Willing to work 9:00am–6:00pm, 5 days a week and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all branch operations across all departments.
• Manage operations of the club, supervise staff, meet financial targets, oversee member services and facilities.
• Organize and manage events, including anniversary events, social gatherings, and corporate functions.
• Develop and implement policies to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Develop pricing strategies and retention initiatives to increase membership and profitability.
• Liaise with business partners to develop revenue channels and stay updated on industry developments.
• Manage the club's budget to meet financial performance, including revenue generation and expense control.
• Ensure facilities are well-maintained, safe, and meet member expectations.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing and HR to provide leadership and strategic solutions.
• Prepare monthly reports from each department, including sales and staffing issues.
• Report directly to the Director with performance insights and improvement plans.
• Handle scheduling, leave approvals, minor HR matters, and incident resolution.
• Ensure the gym maintains high standards of cleanliness, customer service, and safety.

We are seeking a hands-on and capableGeneral Managerto oversee the daily operations of our Kampung Gym branches. This role is critical to ensuring each department (Marketing, PT, HR, Operations, Cleaning, etc.) functions effectively, KPIs are met, and internal reports are submitted to management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all branch operations across all departments
• Responsible for managing operations of the club, including the supervision of staff, meeting financial targets, the oversight of member services, and the maintenance of facilities
• Responsible for organizing and managing events, includinganniversary events, , social gatherings, and corporate functions
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality
• Develop and implement programs, pricing strategies, and retention initiatives. and events that meet the interests and needs of club members to increase membership, sales and profitability.
• Liaise with business partners to develop strong revenue channels and keep updated on new development within the golfing fraternity
• Manage the club’s budget to meet the financial performance, including revenue generation, expense control, and profitability.
• Ensure that the club’s facilities are well-maintained, safe, and meet the expectations of members and guests.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing and HR team on job related matters. Guide the operation team with good leadership, provide strategic solutions to achieve their targets.
• Prepare monthly reports from each department, including sales, staffing, and operational issues
• Report directly to the Director with clear performance insights and improvement plans
• Handle scheduling, leave approvals, minor HR matters, and incident resolution
• Ensure the gym maintains high standards of cleanliness, customer service, and safety

Requirements

• Minimum5 yearsof proven experience in team leadership and operational management (experience in private member clubs, resorts, or hospitality is highly preferred).
• Prior experience inMarketing, brand promotion, event planning, or membership sales is a strong advantage.
• Proven track record in leading teams, enforcing discipline, and driving performance under pressure
• Highly organized and consistent in follow-up, reporting, and team communication
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, you’ll be expected to prepare clear, structured reports every month without supervision
• Comfortable with conflict resolution, performance reviews, and difficult conversations
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage)
• Working hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm, 5 days/week
• Be available on weekends when events or special campaigns are running
