Job summary

Kampung Gym seeks an Operations Manager to own the daily operations across all branches from the Austin Head Office. You will lead three pillars: 24/7 support, facilities & equipment maintenance, and cleaning.

You will enforce hygiene, ensure equipment uptime, handle customer support, and back up after-hours operations to sustain 24/7 service. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in operational management in gyms or related fields, with proven team leadership, crisis handling, and strong Google Suite

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of operational management experience in gyms, hospitality, retail, facility management, or property management.
• Proven track record in managing operational teams (Customer Service, Technicians, and Housekeeping/Cleaners).
• Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and emergency crisis-management skills.
• Basic computer skills e.g. Google Sheets, Google Drive knowledge; good email communication.
• Must possess own transport and valid driving license for regular branch audits.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for all current and future Kampung Gym branches from the Austin Head Office and conduct daily site audits to ensure facilities are well-maintained and brand standards are met.
• Oversee 24/7 Maintenance & Emergency Response, ensure routine repairs, plumbing/electrical fixes, CCTV monitoring, and vendor management.
• Manage the CS team handling member inquiries, door access support, membership requests, and escalations.
• Supervise on-site and mobile cleaning staff, establish cleaning SOPs, conduct hygiene audits, and manage cleaning supplies inventory.
• Prepare shift rosters, schedule patrol routes, monitor KPIs, and ensure headcount coverage for Cleaning and Maintenance teams.
• Ensure all branches comply with health, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Act as escalation point and after-hours backup for door access failures, alarms, or facility emergencies.

Job description

Kampung Gym is seeking an Operations Manager based out of the Austin Head Office to take full operational ownership of all gym outlets. You will directly manage and lead three key operational pillars across all branches: 24hr Support, Facilities & Equipment Maintenance, and the Cleaning Team. As the ultimate operational lead, you will enforce high hygiene standards, ensure 100% equipment uptime, maintain smooth customer support, and serve as the final backup anchor for the 24/7 network.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for all current and future Kampung Gym branches from the Austin Head Office and conduct daily physical site audits across each branch to ensure facilities are well-maintained, fully operational, and adhering to brand standards
• Oversee the 24/7 Maintenance & Emergency Response Technician/CS support, ensure routine machinery repairs, plumbing/electrical fixes, CCTV monitoring, and vendor management are handled seamlessly
• Manage the CS team handling member inquiries, door access support, membership requests (freezes, cancellations), and resolve high-priority customer escalations
• Supervise on-site and mobile cleaning staff across all branches, establish strict cleaning SOPs, conduct regular hygiene audits (restrooms, workout areas, equipment sanitisation), and manage cleaning supplies/consumables inventory
• Prepare shift rosters, schedule branch patrol routes, monitor staff KPIs, and ensure optimal headcount coverage for Cleaning and Maintenance teams
• Ensure all branches comply with health, cleanliness, and safety standards
• Act as the ultimate escalation point and emergency backup for after-hours emergency calls (door access failures, security alarms, or facility emergencies) to maintain 24/7 operational continuity

About you

• Minimum 3–5 years of operational management experience in Gyms, Hospitality, Retail, Facility Management, or Property Management
• Proven track record in managing operational teams (Customer Service, Technicians, and Housekeeping/Cleaners)
• Strong problem solving skill, conflict resolution, and emergency crisis-management skills
