Kampung Gym is seeking a high-caliberOperations Managerbased out of ourAustin Head Officeto take full operational ownership of all our gym outlets. You will directly manage and lead three key operational pillars across all branches:Customer Support (CS),Facilities & Equipment Maintenance, and theCleaning Team.
As the ultimate operational lead, you will enforce high hygiene standards, ensure 100% equipment uptime, maintain smooth customer support, and serve as the final backup anchor for our 24/7 network.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Branch Operations Management: Oversee daily operations for all current and future Kampung Gym branches from the Austin Head Office. Conduct daily physical site audits across each branch to ensure facilities are well-maintained, fully operational, and adhering to brand standards.
- Facilities & Maintenance Operations: Oversee the 24/7 Maintenance & Emergency Response Technician/CS support. Ensure routine machinery repairs, plumbing/electrical fixes, CCTV monitoring, and vendor management are handled seamlessly.
- Customer Service Leadership: Manage the CS team handling member inquiries, door access support, membership requests (freezes, cancellations), and resolve high-priority customer escalations.
- Cleaning & Hygiene Management: Supervise on-site and mobile cleaning staff across all branches. Establish strict cleaning SOPs, conduct regular hygiene audits (restrooms, workout areas, equipment sanitization), and manage cleaning supplies/consumables inventory.
- Team & Rostering Management: Prepare shift rosters, schedule branch patrol routes, monitor staff KPIs, and ensure optimal headcount coverage for Cleaning and Maintenance teams.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all branches comply with health, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- 24-Hour Backup & Incident Support: Act as the ultimate escalation point and emergency backup. If the front-line Customer Support or Night Duty team fails to respond to after-hours emergency calls (door access failures, security alarms, or facility emergencies), step in immediately to resolve the incident and maintain 24/7 operational continuity.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of operational management experience in Gyms, Hospitality, Retail, Facility Management, or Property Management.
- Proven track record in managing operational teams (Customer Service, Technicians, and Housekeeping/Cleaners).
- Strong problem solving skill, conflict resolution, and emergency crisis-management skills.
- Basic computer skill eg Google Sheets, Google Drive knowledge, good with email communication
- Must possess own transport and valid driving license for regular branch audits.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
