Job summary

Altera, based in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Configuration Applications Engineer to join a passionate applications team working on next-generation FPGA technologies. You will lead pre-enabling efforts, contribute to product development, and serve as a technical advisor to customers.

You should have 3+ years of experience in FPGA/CPLD, RTL, Verilog/VHDL, C and Python, plus strong English communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in FPGA/related areas.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication.
• Board bring up and debugging skills.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive issues to closure.
• Experience in RTL and Verilog/VHDL; C and Python programming.
• Highly motivated to learn and adapt to fast-changing technologies.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple issues and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-enabling, product development, and/or product hardening to launch future products.
• Engage as a technical expert to drive value in configuration enablement.
• Deliver collateral and training for FPGA configuration solutions.
• Drive product improvements to maximize scale adoption.
• Debug configuration-related issues and drive corrective action.
• Develop and validate design examples on development kits.
• Create technical documentation such as device handbooks, guides, tutorials & notes.
