Job summary

PORTEVER SHIPPING SDN. BHD. is seeking an accounting/support role to manage daily cash and bank transactions, including freight charges and duties. The position involves maintaining multi-currency records and FX settlements, and supporting Malaysia e-Invoices (MyInvois and Self-Billed).

You will reconcile accounts, organize invoices and statements, and assist with month-end closing, audits, and routine finance tasks. Mandarin and English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or cash management.
• Familiar with Malaysian accounting procedures and basic tax rules.
• Knowledge of Malaysia e-Invoice requirements is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data handling.

Job description

Handle daily cash and bank receipts and payments, including freight charges, customs duties, operational expenses, and other related payments.

Maintain accurate cash and bank records and assist in managing multi-currency accounts and foreign exchange settlements.

Assist with the preparation and submission of Malaysia e-Invoices, including MyInvois and Self-Billed e-Invoice transactions.

Work closely with the finance team on customer and supplier account reconciliation and verification of supporting documents.

Organise and maintain proper filing of invoices, bank statements, payment records, and other accounting documents.

Assist with month-end closing, audit preparation, and other daily accounting and finance tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or cash management. Experience in freight forwarding or the logistics industry will be an advantage.

Familiar with Malaysian accounting procedures and basic tax regulations. Knowledge of Malaysia e-Invoice requirements is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formulas, filtering, and basic spreadsheet functions.

Experience with SQL or accounting systems will be an added advantage.

Able to communicate effectively in both Mandarin and English to liaise with Mandarin- and English-speaking customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

Detail-oriented, responsible, organised, and able to handle daily accounting tasks independently.

Good communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
