Job summary

Food Excellence Specialist Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting department and oversee month-end closing processes for accuracy and timeliness.

You will supervise finance staff, implement robust controls, and ensure compliance with Malaysian and international accounting standards. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CA/CPA qualification, and at least 5 years of accounting experience including 2 years in a similar role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Financing and related field.
• Chartered Accountant / Certified Practising Accountant (CA/CPA).
• At least 5 years of experience in Accounting and 2 years in same position.
• Familiar with accounting system and standard.

Responsibilities

• Assist Financial Controller to lead and direct the department efficiently in accounting and ensure timely process and proper control procedure in accounting especially month-end financial closing.
• Provide direction and supervision to the finance staff.
• Establish and manage all necessary financial accounting processes, controls and procedures.
• Oversee the whole general financial accounting and its monitoring systems for the company.
• Ensure statutory financial statements and group financial reporting are completed accurately and timely.
• Post financial transactions to the general ledger from all sources in compliance with accounting standards and group policies.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop procedures to minimize financial risks and regularly review controls.

Job description

Assisting Financial Controller to lead and direct the department efficiently in accounting and ensure timely process and proper control procedure in accounting especially month-end financial closing and to lead in the absence of Financial Controller.

Manage, provide direction and supervision to the finance staff.

Establish and manage all the necessary financial accounting process, controls and procedures.

Responsible for the whole general financial accounting and its monitoring systems for the company.

Responsible for all statutory financial statements and the Group financial reporting are completed in accurate and timely manner, and meet the deadline given.

Ensure financial transactions are posted to the general ledger from all sources in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with existing practising accounting standards, policies and procedures as well as comply with Malaysian & International Accounting Standards. (FRS) and the group standards.

Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting, reporting and regulatory requirements.

Develop procedures within the department for the purpose of minimizing financial risks and regular review to verify the effectiveness of controls in accounting process.

Manage the cash/fund pool and maintain up-to-date cashflow forecast information.

Ensure compliance to Treasury policies and procedures.

Liaise with tax agent on the computation of tax (Income Tax; GST; Withholding tax etc) and the filing of tax returns to the tax authority on timely manner.

Provide financial information necessary for the renewal of yearly insurance coverage and support insurance claim process.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Financing and related field

Chartered Accountant / Certified Practising Accountant (CA/CPA)

At least 5 years of experience in Accounting and 2 years experience in same position

Familiar with accounting system and standard

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

Ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation
