Job summary

MQ Communications Sdn Bhd in Skudai, Johor invites applications for a Finance Executive to join our finance team. The role focuses on accurate accounting records, compliance, and timely reporting to support strategic decisions.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll submissions, audits, and management reporting while upholding confidentiality and working well in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting or bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of MAS or IFRS accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank statements, ledger accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment authorisation.
• Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and work papers for internal and external audits.
• Monitor and record fixed assets, depreciation and asset disposals.
• Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant accounting regulations.
• Perform data entry and maintain financial databases and spreadsheets with high accuracy.
• Liaise with internal departments and external parties to obtain necessary financial information and clarifications.
• Submit SST and E-invoice.
• Liaise with auditors and tax agents to ensure a smooth audit and compliance process.
• Maintain clean and audit-ready documentation at all times.
• Handle day-to-day HR and administrative activities.
• Handle Payroll Submit EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and PCB filings on time.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting, bookkeeping or a similar accounting role
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices, with familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards (MAS) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and rectify discrepancies in financial records
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
