Job summary

PointStar in Malaysia is seeking an Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and support month-end closing processes. The role requires Mandarin proficiency to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and partners, and a Degree/Diploma in Accounting and Finance.

You will work with auditors and other departments to ensure timely reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years in Finance and a proactive, independent work style with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Mandarin proficiency to support Mandarin-speaking clients and partners.
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting and Finance.
• Good team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills are advantageous.
• 3–4 years of experience in Finance – General/Financial/Consolidation Accounting or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial and accounting operations including payables, receivables, expenses records and credit control.
• Liaise with other Departments to complete month-end and year-end accounts closing.
• Assist in timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial and management reports.
• Assist with annual tax returns and year-end financial audit.
• Liaise with auditor, company secretary, tax agent and payment gateway merchants.
• Maintain proper filing of accounting documents for record keeping.
• Manage accounting tasks assigned, ensuring all jobs are completed diligently and timely.
• Undertake ad-hoc assignments by management as required.
• Ensure all accounting systems, practices, controls and procedures comply with company policy.
