The Finance Manager is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role oversees cash flow, reporting, and internal controls while providing strategic insights to management. The Finance Manager leads the finance team, drives cost efficiency, and maintains relationships with auditors and financial institutions. With strong leadership and analytical skills, the role supports business growth by aligning financial operations with company objectives and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Responsible for developing financial strategies, preparing budgets, and managing cash flow to ensure operational efficiency.
Ensures the statutory compliance of financial statements.
Preparing financial reports, handling tax filings and maintaining internal controls.
Liaises with Auditors, Tax Agent, and regulatory bodies to prevent financial misconduct.
Develops and monitors forecast/budgets to optimize costs while identifying opportunities for financial efficiency.
Analyze financial data to enhance profitability and reduce unnecessary expenses.
Monitor and manages the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
Implement strategies to optimize cash reserves, control expenditures, and maintain financial stability.
Assist in capital/fund management to mitigate the liquidity and credit risks.
Builds and maintains relationship with banks, financial institutions and stakeholders.
Leads, supervises and coach the finance team, ensuring efficiency in financial and credit risk management.
Provides guidance/training and development opportunities while collaborating with senior management to drive business growth.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial results to management, detailing loan portfolio performance, revenue trends, branch financials, expense analysis, and key financial metrics.
Provide insights on financial health and recommend data-driven strategies for improvement.
Assist senior management with financial decision-making by providing accurate forecasts, budgeting insights, and financial risk assessments. Ensure alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives.
Complete any additional tasks or responsibilities assigned by management as required.
Communicate key financial directives, company objectives, and regulatory updates from senior management to the finance team.
Oversee and ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all team members adhere to established financial procedures and reporting standards.
Coach and mentor finance team members to enhance their technical competencies and financial acumen. Identify high-potential employees through performance reviews and ensure talent is effectively placed within roles that align with business growth strategies.
Monitor financial operational challenges and implement actionable solutions to improve workflow efficiency, risk management, and financial reporting accuracy. Address internal issues related to compliance, financial controls, and audit findings.
Regularly assess the performance of financial operations to ensure key financial objectives are being met.
Conduct ongoing employee on job coaching and professional development programs.
Ensure that finance team members adhere to confidentiality policies, avoid conflicts of interest, and maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
Conduct periodic financial reviews of company assets, liabilities, and outstanding loan portfolios and provide insights and recommendation for management decision making.
Work closely with Auditors, Tax Agent, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Malaysia Companies Act, financial reporting standards and other relevant requirements.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, ACCA or similar certifications are an advantage.
Minimum five (5) year related working experience in managerial role will be an added advantage.
Experience in financial reporting and planning.
Effective communication with superior on issues faced.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and bookkeeping software.
Strong leadership skills, and able to inspire and motivate others.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
Good business judgements and result driven oriented.
Able to perform tasks with minimum guidance.
Attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in mind
Take responsibility in tasks assigned and have high problem solving and analyzing skills.
