The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, regulatory compliance, and efficient cash flow management. The role supports the General Manager – Finance in maintaining the company’s financial stability and achieving business objectives through sound financial practices and operational control.
Job Specifications
1. Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans.
- Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis reports.
- Support management in financial planning and cost control initiatives.
- Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
2. Financial Operations Management
- Oversee daily finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor company cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and lending activities.
- Manage payment schedules, fund disbursement, and financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of financial records.
3. Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant financial regulations including the Moneylenders Act.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes.
4. Team Supervision and Development
- Supervise and guide finance executives and finance support staff in daily operations.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance monitoring to ensure departmental effectiveness.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Assist in developing SOPs and improving finance-related processes.
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial support and operational insights.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, legal representatives, and external stakeholders when required.
- Support management in financial discussions, reporting, and business decision-making.
6. Risk and Credit Management
- Monitor financial risks and ensure proper internal controls are implemented.
- Review customer financial assessments and loan documentation to minimize credit risk.
- Monitor loan repayment collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Assist in handling loan default cases and recommend recovery actions when necessary.
- Ensure proper safeguarding of company assets and financial information.

- Accurate Financial Reporting: Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of financial statements and management reports.
- Budget and Cost Control: Monitor expenses effectively and maintain operations within approved budgets.
