Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks an on-site technical support engineer to diagnose, repair and maintain equipment during customer visits. You will read mechanical, pneumatic and electrical drawings, perform precision measurements, and collaborate with the JRA Singapore team for tool installation and calibration.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, safe working practices and clear customer communication; training users and documenting incidents are part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose and repair customer-reported problems.
• Experience troubleshooting robots, control devices and peripherals.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work in cleanroom/confined spaces.
• Able to read mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.

Job description

• Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems.
• Provide internal, external and depth measurements using vernier calipers.
• Perform repeatability measurements using dial gauge & levelling using level gauge.
• Conduct continuity, current and voltage measurements using multimeter.
• Ability to perform robot teaching for accuracy and repeatability.
• To read and understand mechanical drawings including identifying component part numbers, manufacturers, quantity, functions, etc.
• Ability to read and understand pneumatic drawings including identifying component symbols, functions as well as trace the circuit flow.
• Read and understand electrical drawings including identifying component symbols, functions, as well as trace the circuit flow.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
• Provide technical guidance and basic training to customer where required with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills and customer service.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to discuss, diagnose & repair operational and process problems as reported by the customer.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintenance of robots, control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices and peripheral equipment.
• Learn new equipment regularly and support customers with a variety of skill levels remotely.
• Work in cleanroom environment.
• Work with the JRA Singapore team during tool installation and commissioning where tool levelling, alignment, robot teaching, testing and debugging the tool will be required.
• Work in confined space which is required during tool installation and maintenance.
• Work at heights during tool installation and maintenance.
• Manual lifting work is required.
• Coordinate and perform scheduled preventive maintenance with customer.
• Respond to escalation from Intel as per the procedures attached.
• Observe all safety regulations at all times.
• Comply with LOTO requirements at all times.
• Conduct Levels 1 and 2 training to customer. Level 1 refers to operator training and level 2 refers to maintenance and troubleshooting training.
• Thorough documentation of each customer and incident using case reporting system.
• Self-directed to follow up with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Actively propagates JR culture within engineering and promotes our capabilities.
• Assist with documentation and “support guides” of recurrent issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team; ability to follow instructions and adhere to quality and safety policies and practices.
