Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan Talent Recruit Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a multinational semiconductor equipment provider based in Penang/Melaka.

You will install, service and qualify complex production gear, with 2–3 months of training at the HQ in Austria and frequent overseas travel to Taiwan, Singapore and the USA. The role requires a degree in engineering, 2+ years of hands-on experience, and willingness to work in cleanroom environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years' experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing semiconductor/electronic production equipment.
• Willing to travel overseas and work in cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, start up and qualify semiconductor/electronic production equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspection and repair of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, electromechanical and process-related issues.
• Identify and correct equipment/process variations and support customers in resolving issues.
• Perform warranty, paid service and service contract activities within required timelines.
• Support customer installation plans, equipment qualification and process applications.
• Monitor equipment downtime and keep management updated on critical situations.
• Maintain equipment logs, service records and required documentation accurately.
• Communicate professionally with customers onsite and via email/phone.
• Initiate purchase orders for required parts and services.

Our client is a leading multinational supplier of semiconductor production equipment and process solutions, specializing in wafer bonding and lithography technologies for advanced packaging and nanotechnology.

What to expect?

New joiners will undergo 2–3 months of training at the HQ in Austria to gain in-depth knowledge of the Company's products, with frequent overseas travel required to support projects mainly in Taiwan, Singapore and the USA.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspection and repair of equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, electromechanical and process-related issues involving equipment, facilities and wafers.
• Identify and correct equipment/process variations and support customers in resolving technical problems.
• Perform warranty, paid service and service contract activities within required timelines.
• Support customer installation plans, equipment qualification and process applications.
• Monitor equipment downtime and keep management updated on critical situations.
• Maintain equipment logs, service records and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers through onsite meetings, email and telephone.
• Initiate purchase orders for required parts and services.
• Maintain and repair company demo/cleanroom equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping and comply with site safety and cleanroom requirements.
• Keep up to date with the company's latest equipment, systems, methods and procedures.
• Be willing to work overtime, respond to short-notice call-outs and support frequent local and overseas travel based on project requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related Engineering
• Minimum 2years' experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing semiconductor/electronic production equipment.
• Experience identifying and solving advanced equipment/process-related problems.
• Willing to work in cleanroom/fab environments.
• Willing to travel frequently for overseas assignments, including overnight stays and short-notice travel.
