Job summary

Atomic Recruitment SEA is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a multinational industrial machinery company in Malaysia. This hands-on role covers installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, repair, and retrofitting across machine tools and control systems, with domestic and regional travel.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems; lead on-site installs; perform safety checks; and deliver operator training while building strong

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in field service or technical support; MNC/matrix organization background preferred.
• Fluent in English (German is a plus).
• Willing to travel internationally/regionally.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex malfunctions across mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems; coordinate spare parts and execute repairs.
• Lead on-site installation, commissioning, safety checks, and customer handovers, including custom programming and adaptations.
• Execute scheduled maintenance, update service checklists, implement machine rebuilds, and apply data protection/service updates.
• Collaborate with internal experts to develop interim and long-term fix strategies; consult clients on equipment optimization and innovation.
• Maintain detailed service logs, report technical weaknesses, and deliver operator/service training for clients and junior team members.

Our client is a multinational industrial machinery company and they're in the search for a Field Service Engineer to join its Machine Tools division in Malaysia. This is a hands-on technical role covering the full service lifecycle, from installation and commissioning through to preventive maintenance, repair, and retrofitting. You will work with customers domestically and across Asia, delivering high-quality service solutions and building strong client relationships.

Job Responsibilities
