Job summary

Hunters International Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to serve as the primary technical contact for on-site commissioning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across key industries.

You will lead site commissioning, diagnose faults, read electrical and mechanical schematics, and coordinate with vendors and customers while ensuring compliant reporting and adherence to EHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
• Hands-on experience servicing hydraulic gearboxes, motors, electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics; PLCs and VFD knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site commissioning, installation supervision, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for electro-mechanical systems.
• Diagnose operating errors, identify root causes, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Coordinate with end-users and vendors, delivering remote and on-site support.

Role Overview

Our client, an established global provider of industrial engineering solutions, is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician. Based in Malaysia, this role serves as the primary technical point of contact for customer support, on-site commissioning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across key industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical On-Site Operations: Lead site commissioning, installation supervision, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for specialized electro-mechanical systems.
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Diagnose operating errors, identify root causes, and implement efficient technical solutions to maintain high equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Vendor & Customer Coordination: Serve as the direct liaison for client interactions, delivering both remote and on-site support while coordinating activities with end-users and appointed vendors.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate, timely service and expense reports following every assignment while strictly adhering to corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines.

Requirements:

• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience servicing hydraulic gearboxes, electrical motors, and electro-mechanical systems, with the ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Yaskawa, Fuji) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems is preferred. Experience in Construction, Steel, Mining, or Port/Automotive equipment is highly advantageous.
• Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical trade certification (Electrician/Mechanic).
