Job summary

Maxis Malaysia is seeking a field network engineer to maintain and troubleshoot the mobile network infrastructure across multiple sites. You will handle configuration, diagnostics, and servicing of base stations, routers, switches, and transmission systems to ensure high availability and performance.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field, with at least 3 years in telecom field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in telecoms/engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in network field operations for telecoms/mobile operators.
• Experience with cellular technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G) including RAN and transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform configuration and troubleshooting of network equipment (base stations, routers, switches, transmission systems) at various sites.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults and outages; identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Respond to incidents and alarms within defined SLAs; collaborate with planning, operations and support teams.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, network diagrams and equipment inventories.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies during field operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as required.
