Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Telecommunications / Access Network Engineer in Kuala Lumpur. You will apply your 4+ years of telecoms experience and a relevant Bachelor's degree to design, deploy, and optimize access networks including GPON, OLTs, and Small Cells.

Responsibilities include provisioning backhaul, managing Layer 2/3 routing, RF/optical budget analyses, and coordinating with vendors for CNFs/Open RAN tests. The role requires strong IP networking and testing tool familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications, ISP, or MNO environments.
• Deep working knowledge of GPON, 10G-EPON, XGS-PON and OLT platforms.
• Hands-on deployment of Small Cell/HetNet and baseband units.
• Strong understanding of mobile transport protocols and RAN fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Configure, commission, and maintain OLT platforms (GPON, XGS-PON, NG-PON2) and ONT/ONU devices.
• Design, deploy and integrate 4G LTE and 5G NR Small Cells, DAS, and micro-cell nodes.
• Troubleshoot mobile backhaul/fronthaul links to EPC/5GC; manage Layer 2/3 routing and VLAN tagging.
• Perform RF/optical link budget analysis, OTDR trace interpretation, and KPI monitoring.
• Coordinate with vendors for firmware validation, testing, and Open RAN interfaces.
