Job summary

Greatech Mechatronics (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager to lead daily operations of building systems including electrical, HVAC, utilities, and safety programs.

You will plan preventive maintenance, manage budgets, coordinate projects, and drive improvements across Production, Engineering and EHS to support manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of building facilities, electrical systems, HVAC, utilities, and maintenance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Facilities team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Oversee building facilities, electrical systems, HVAC, utilities and safety compliance.
• Plan preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Monitor facility performance, energy usage and maintenance costs.
• Coordinate facility-related projects, upgrades and new equipment installations.
• Lead root-cause analysis for facility breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage the department's budget and maintenance plans.

Greatech Mechatronics (M) Sdn Bhd – Penang

• Lead and manage the Facilities team to ensure smooth and reliable daily operations.
• Oversee building facilities, electrical systems, HVAC, compressed air, water supply, fire protection, and other utility systems.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment and facility downtime.
• Monitor facility performance, energy consumption, maintenance costs, and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all facilities, equipment, and systems comply with relevant safety, environmental, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage contractors and service providers, including maintenance, quotation, work quality, and service performance.
• Coordinate facility-related projects, upgrading works, expansion, renovation, and new equipment installation.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for facility breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage the department's budget, maintenance plans, and facility improvement projects.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, EHS, Security, and other departments to support business and production requirements.
• Develop and implement facility SOPs, preventive maintenance programs, emergency response plans, and work procedures.
• Lead and develop the Facilities team through coaching, training, and performance management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with management/supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of building facilities, electrical systems, HVAC, utilities, and maintenance management.
• Experience in managing contractors, facility projects, and maintenance budgets.
• Good knowledge of OSH, DOE, BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and other relevant statutory requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Able to work independently and respond to facility emergencies when required.
• Chargeman certification would be an added advantage, particularly for candidates with strong electrical facility experience.
