Job summary

CBRE seeks an Assistant Technical Manager in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia to lead a team handling mechanical operations, energy management, and maintenance for a portfolio of buildings.

You will supervise staff, coordinate daily activities, and help manage operating budgets while ensuring safety and high performance. Strong leadership and engineering background required for reliable facility operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in staffing, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance.
• Ability to convey sensitive information, set performance expectations, and handle problems.
• Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees; monitor training; conduct evaluations and coaching.
• Coordinate daily team activities; set schedules and deadlines; cross-train staff.
• Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities; assist budget development.
• Imrove preventive maintenance programs; maintain safety manuals.
• Coordinate with contractors, tenants, and technicians on maintenance efforts.
• Oversee building systems (fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
• Communicate with tenants, clients, owners, and vendors.
• Support acquisition of new management contracts; maintain as-built drawings.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns.
