Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our real estate investment division. You will direct, mentor, and coach the technical staff, oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Facilities Management preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in operations and facilities management.
• Proven end-to-end talent management (hiring, coaching, appraisals).
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross‑department collaboration.
• Analytical with financial metrics and cost calculations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and data analysis.
• Organized, detail-oriented with continuous improvement mindset.
• Facility manufacturing experience is a plus.

• Direct, mentor, and coach technical staff across all levels. Oversee team recruitment, onboarding, ongoing training, performance evaluations, and strategic cross-training to build a versatile, high-performing team and support long-term career growth.
• Oversee daily facility operations, establish work schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure project deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs) are met consistently.
• Serve as a key point of contact to build, nurture, and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, vendor partners, site leadership, and internal stakeholders.
• Take full ownership of profit and loss (P&L) management, operational budget planning, expense tracking, and financial forecasting for the operations division.
• Formulate long-term departmental goals, refine operational workflows, and strictly enforce compliance with standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve both routine and complex facility engineering and system performance issues to prevent downtime and optimize asset lifespans.

skills and experience required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred, minimum 5 years of relevant operational and facilities management experience (or an equivalent, well-demonstrated combination of education and hands-on technical leadership)
• A solid track record in end-to-end talent management, including hiring, coaching, objective performance appraisal, team motivation, and retention strategies.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities to guide the exchange of sensitive, complex, or technical information, clearly communicate performance expectations, handle conflict resolution, and achieve consensus across departments.
• Sharp analytical and mathematical skills, with proven confidence in working with financial metrics, fractions, percentages, and operational cost calculations.
• Advanced, proficient command of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) for reporting, scheduling, and data analysis.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong inquisitive mindset, sharp critical-thinking abilities, and a commitment to continuous operational improvement.
• Experience in manufacturing facilities is an added advantage.
