Job summary

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) is seeking an Executive for Procurement Material and Services based in Pasir Gudang, Johor. The role focuses on sourcing, supplier evaluation, and contract preparation to obtain favorable terms while ensuring schedule adherence and cost control.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 2–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in marine/oil & gas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience, depending on the position: 2–3 years for Procurement Material and 3–5 years for MO Procurement Services.
• Marine or oil and gas industry experience is required for MO Procurement Services; experience in a similar industry is relevant for Procurement Material.

We are seeking suitable candidates for the following positions based in Pasir Gudang, Johor:

Key Responsibilities

Manage sourcing and procurement activities to meet project and operational requirements, ensuring timely delivery, quality and cost effectiveness.

Evaluate suppliers, quotations and proposals based on pricing, capabilities, quality and reliability.

Coordinate supplier negotiations and contract preparation to secure favourable commercial terms.

Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to support procurement schedules and resolve related issues.

Monitor market trends, identify cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement risks.

Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures and governance requirements.

Role-Specific Scope

Procurement Material: Process procurement requisitions and purchase orders for HEO and yard materials, monitor budget utilisation and support supply chain improvements.

Procurement Services: Manage service procurement, supplier categorisation, price and tariff agreements, and risks relating to service delivery and vendor dependency.

Qualifications and Experiences

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management or a related field.

2–5 years of relevant procurement experience, depending on the position: 2–3 years for Procurement Material and 3–5 years for MO Procurement Services.

Marine or oil and gas industry experience is required for MO Procurement Services; experience in a similar industry is relevant for Procurement Material.
