Job summary

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) is seeking a capable professional to prepare and develop bid proposals for marine commercial activities within the Gas division. You will work with Estimating, Cost Control and PMT teams to deliver competitive technical and commercial submissions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support in analysis of market trends & dynamics, customer database / behaviour, competitors’ activities and industry trends to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Receive enquiries/repair specifications from Customers, process and forward to Estimating Dept.
• Coordinate with Estimating Department for any technical clarifications and requests for additional information, where necessary, and obtain same from Customer.
• Identify, analyze, and evaluate cost risks throughout the project duration to ensure timely delivery and propose mitigation actions to minimize financial impacts.
• Review enquiries and understand all working procedures based on client specifications.
• Manage and review cost estimating and budgeting functions to ensure cost are as per the budget and are communicated clearly and timely to relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare draft bid with cost analysis, lesson learnt, and forecast of relevant budgets and cost impact to ensure effective project management and informed decision-making.
• Discuss draft bid with Head, Marine Commercial - Gas for further amendment, if required and obtain approval for final submission.
• Submit competitive proposal inclusive (Technical & Commercial) with realistic cost, working period to meet client budget and expectation to secure projects.
• Follow-up proactively with Customer / MMHE agent for feedback on submitted Bids.
• Act on feedback received to improve competitiveness and chances of securing the order.
• Submit acceptance of order to Customer.
• Raise the Job Order Number and lead the handover meeting with PMT, Cost Control team, SCM and Production & Operation Heads to brief the key highlight of the project.
• Obtain feedback from Customer / MMHE Agent reasons for failure to secure the order.
• Analysis the reason for the unsuccessful bid and discuss strategy for next bidding projects.
• Maintain sustainable and strengthen relationship with key decision maker(s) of existing Customers.
• Develop and maintain relationship with key decision maker(s) of new Customers.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential customers, competitors, trends, and gaps in marine industry.
• Comply to the relevant HSE policies and procedures.
• Participate and support Division's and Company's Quality, HSE and Kaizen initiatives.
• Maintain a healthy and conducive work-culture in Marine Commercial - Gas that encourages cohesiveness and commitment among staff.

Education

Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.

Prepare and develop Bid Proposal preparation in marine commercial activities for Marine and Asset Integrity Solutions - Gas department to contribute to the achievement of the Marine and Asset Integrity Solutions business plan.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.

At least 1 year experience in the Marine Repair or related industries.
