Job summary

Scicom MSC Berhad is seeking a junior IT Engineer to support foundational IT operations, maintenance, and database tasks for enterprise systems in Malaysia. The role includes routine system monitoring, basic SQL querying, and bilingual collaboration in English and Mandarin.

You will assist senior engineers, document incidents in English, and help ensure stable cross-regional IT services through proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of IT operations and maintenance experience.
• Fluent in Chinese and English for daily communication and documentation.
• Knowledge of MySQL or SQL Server is a plus.

The Position:

This junior-level role focuses on foundational IT operations, maintenance, and database support for enterprise business systems. The Junior Engineer will assist in routine system monitoring, execute basic SQL queries for troubleshooting, and leverage bilingual communication skills (English and Mandarin) to support cross-regional IT operations.

The Requirement for the Role:

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.


• Minimum 1 year of experience in IT operations and maintenance.


• Fluent in Chinese & English (Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing) for daily communication and documentation.

Nice to have:

• Foundational knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server) and basic SQL query writing.
