Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a capable accounting professional to coordinate the accounting unit, check all entries, payments and journal vouchers before submission to the accountant for approval, and supervise subordinates. The role requires maintaining monthly accounts and bank reconciliations with due regard to IMS and Hospital Accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the accounting unit and check all entries before submission for approval.
• Verify cheques and cash banked in, and verify payment vouchers.
• Prepare inter‑company and bank reconciliations.
• Verify refunds to patients and petty cash claims.
• Prepare letters for any cheque returned and monthly accounts.
• Monitor bank balances daily and supervise accounts clerks.
• Assist in cash flow preparation and interim/year-end audits.
• Ensure IMS/Hospital Accreditation records are maintained.

Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To be responsible for coordinating the accounting unit and checking all the accounting entries, payment and journal vouchers before submitting to the accountant for approval and supervision of subordinates

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• To verify amount of cheques and cash banked in
• To check all payment vouchers before submitting to the accountant for verification.
• To prepare inter-company and bank reconciliation.
• To verify refund to patients
• To verify petty cash claims
• To prepare letters for any cheque returned
• To prepare monthly accounts
• To check bank balances on a daily basis
• To assist and supervise accounts clerk in their daily work
• To assist the accountant in preparing weekly and monthly cash flow
• To verify overtime claimed by clerks ( if any )
• To check on creditors reconciliation done by accounts clerk
• To perform any other relevant duties as and when required by Accountant or Senior Finance Manager.
• To monitor the fixed assets register
• To assist finance manager in interim and year end auditing
• To carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in occupational safety and health act and regulations 1994 :- to take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons ; to co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty ; to wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer ; to comply with any instruction or measure on Occupational Safety and Health ; Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced by the department. Ensure all policies and procedures of Integrated Management System (IMS) and/or Hospital Accreditation are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented
