Job summary

Sunway Retail is seeking a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our FM team in Subang Jaya. You will support daily operations, maintain mechanical, electrical, and ACMV systems, and assist engineering management to keep downtime minimal while following safety and regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with 1–3 years of relevant experience, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil or equivalent Engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Possesses technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and knowledge of building codes, fire safety, and country standards.
• Fine attention to detail and quality.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure general and emergency repair and Facilities Management works are completed within an acceptable timeframe.
• Ensure mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations comply with current regulations.
• Monitor and maintain the AMR system.
• Minimize downtime of FM systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on FM systems.
• Engage with contractors and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support to internal departments.
• Conduct and document regular inspections of plant and equipment.
• Assist the manager in maintenance planning and achieving department goals.
• Adhere to OSHA and Sunway safety policies.
• Understand and apply Sunway data handling policies.

JOB SUMMARY

Assist in the day-to-day operations within the Facility Management department ensuring plant and equipment operate with the least amount of down time. Maintain the shopping mall facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, ACMV systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs. Participates in the overall Engineering Management whilst maintaining a "hands on role".

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• 1. Sees to it that general and emergency repair and Facilities Management works for all plant and equipment are executed within an acceptable timeframe.
• 2. To ensure all the mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation are always comply to the latest legal regulation imposed by Suruhanjaya Tenaga/DOSH/local authorities.
• 3. To monitor and maintain the automatic meter reading (AMR) is always in working condition.
• 4. Ensures minimum downtime of FM system.
• 5. Carries out preventive maintenance on the FM system.
• 6. To engaged with contractors and various stake holders.
• 7. To provide technical support to all the internal departments.
• 8. To conducts and documents regular inspections of plant and equipment according to statutory requirements.
• 9.Assists the manager or management in the strategizing for the maintenance plan and the achieving of department goals.
• 10. Any other tasks or duties that may be assigned by superior from time to time.
• 11. To comply with all company policies, including those related to OSHA regulations.
• 12. To adhere to workplace safety protocols, participate in safety training programs, and promptly report any safety hazards or incidents to Company. 13. Understands and applies all policies implemented by Sunway to any personal data received, used, transmitted, processed, or stored.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Minimum Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil or equivalent Engineering.
• 2. Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
• 3.Possesses technical and problem-solving abilities.
• 4. Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and knowledge in relevant legislation (building codes, fire safety, and country standards).
