Job summary

Carro is seeking a Workshop Supervisor/Technician Leader in Malaysia to oversee daily workshop operations, assign jobs, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance. You will ensure safety and quality standards while coordinating with service advisors and parts to keep vehicles moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Automotive Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ automotive technician experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair, troubleshooting, and workshop operations.
• EV/Hybrid vehicle experience and high-voltage safety knowledge are an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of technicians and workshop staff.
• Assign repair and maintenance jobs based on skills, workload and priority.
• Monitor repair progress to meet stated turnaround times (TAT).
• Provide technical guidance for diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues.
• Ensure repair procedures comply with manufacturer specs, company standards and safety rules.
• Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality and minimize rework.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors, Job Controllers, and Parts Dept to ensure progress and parts availability.
• Monitor manpower, productivity, equipment utilization, and technician performance.
• Coach, mentor and train technicians to enhance skills and competency.
• Support onboarding and development of new workshop employees.
• Ensure workshop tools/equipment are maintained and the workshop is clean and safe.
