EGD TRADING in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, seeks an experienced Workshop Foreman to oversee all workshop operations, lead mechanics and technicians, and ensure high standards of vehicle repairs and maintenance completed for customers.

This full-time role combines operations management with hands-on technical leadership, offering opportunities for staff development, process improvements, and strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repairs and diagnostics across various vehicle types.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations in automotive workshops.
• Valid driving licence.
• Good communication skills in English and/or Malay.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Certifications in automotive trades or relevant technical qualifications.
• Experience with workshop management software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise workshop staff, including mechanics and technicians, ensuring safety protocols and standards.
• Plan and allocate work tasks efficiently to team members based on skill levels and workload.
• Monitor the quality of work performed, conducting inspections and ensuring repairs meet standards.
• Maintain workshop equipment and machinery in optimal condition, arranging maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Manage inventory of tools, parts and materials, ordering stock and controlling wastage.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with service advisors and management regarding job progress and customer requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to workshop staff.
• Keep accurate records of work completed, time tracking and maintenance logs.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to technical work.
