Job summary

ELIZON CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. is seeking an Environmental Officer to monitor environmental compliance at the construction site and implement environmental management practices across projects.

You will conduct site inspections, manage waste, and coordinate with teams and authorities on environmental matters. The role requires a Diploma/Degree in a related field, knowledge of regulations, and the ability to work independently on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in environmental management, preferably in construction or civil engineering projects.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and construction site environmental management.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring, waste management, pollution control, and environmental reporting.
• Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Able to work independently and conduct regular site inspections.
• Willing to be based at the project site.
• Possession of relevant environmental competency certifications will be an advantage.
• Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
• EPF, SOCSO and EIS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and project environmental requirements.
• Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) at the project site.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and identify potential environmental risks.
• Monitor pollution control measures, including dust, noise, wastewater, and soil erosion.
• Ensure proper waste management, including scheduled waste handling and disposal, where applicable.
• Monitor and maintain environmental records, reports, inspection checklists, and documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on environmental matters.
• Investigate environmental incidents, complaints, and non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct environmental awareness briefings and toolbox talks for site personnel.
• Assist in environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
