Loyal Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Officer to monitor and enforce environmental standards across project sites in Malaysia. You will coordinate environmental management programmes, conduct audits, and liaise with regulators to ensure compliance with permits and EMP requirements.
The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience and an EIA-related certification or CePSTPO, with strong communication and report-writing skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or any other relevant field.
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience in environmental management, preferably within construction, infrastructure, water/wastewater, or project-based environments.
Possess relevant environmental competency/certification, specifically EIA-related certification or CePSTPO.
Good knowledge and understanding of applicable environmental legislation, regulatory requirements, Environmental Management Plan (EMP), and environmental compliance requirements.
Experience in environmental site inspections, monitoring, audits, incident investigation, waste management, documentation, and regulatory reporting will be an added advantage.
Good communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct environmental awareness training and toolbox briefings.
Able to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, local authorities, and relevant regulatory agencies.
Monitor, maintain, and protect environmental standards in strict accordance with current local rules and regulations.
Coordinate and implement environmental management programmes, including routine site walks, environmental audits, and spot checks.
Identify and assess potential environmental risks, including pollution, noise levels, toxic contamination, and waste management.
Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with related environmental laws, permits, and licenses.
Implement the project’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP) in compliance with all relevant legal, statutory, and legislative requirements.
Identify potential environmental hazards and impacts, and formulate proactive action plans to prevent pollution, environmental incidents, non-compliance, or damage to the environment.
Maintain high environmental standards across all project workplaces and activities.
Conduct and participate in site meetings with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
Investigate environmental non-compliance cases, public complaints, or incidents, and prepare comprehensive reports for management and relevant agencies.
Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring data, inspections, audits, incidents, complaints, waste management records, and regulatory submissions.
Develop environmental awareness and promotional materials and conduct environmental training and toolbox briefings to promote environmental compliance among all project personnel.
Undertake specific Environmental Officer tasks and responsibilities as stipulated per Contract Requirement.
Execute other relevant assignments designated by superiors or the Project Manager as required.
