Job summary

IG Zenith Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an Engineering Draftman (Mechanical) to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings and support our Digitalization System Transformation.

You will convert 3D models into detailed drawings, maintain drawing registers, and ensure alignment with BOM, standards (ANSI/ISO/ASME Y14.5), while meeting tight timelines. The role involves coordinating with design and manufacturing teams and reporting progress regularly.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in design engineering, drafting or mechanical engineering; CAD/GD&T certs are plus.
• Minimum 2 years of design engineering or drafting in machinery or fabrication environments.
• Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD with GD&T; strong understanding of BOM, basic physics and machining concepts.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of parts and assemblies.
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure alignment with BOM and project milestones.
• Ensure drawings comply with ANSI, ISO, ASME Y14.5 standards and safety protocols.

Engineering Draftman (Mechanical) - start immediately, 5D/wk

Looking for high responsive, executive-driven professional who committed to producing accurate technical drawings within tight timeline.

The Mechanical Engineering Drafter is responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D mechanical drawings to support engineering design activities as part of our organization’s Digitalization System Transformation.

The role ensures the accurate and timely conversion of engineering design data into standardized technical documentation by converting 3D models as developed into detailed 2D drawings, supporting the creation and management of digital CAD assets for fabricated and purchased parts, and maintaining up-to-date drawing registers. Through disciplined execution of assigned weekly tasks and regular progress reporting within defined Transformation milestones, the role contributes to drawing accuracy, traceability, and alignment with digital engineering workflows across the organization.

Responsibilities

• 1. Technical Drawings
  • 3D Modeling: Create solid models of parts and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD).
  • 2D Drafting: Generate orthographic projections (top, front, side views), sections, and detail views.
  • Dimensioning & Tolerancing: Apply precise measurements and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts fit together correctly.
• 2. Design & Documentation

  Ensure alignment between CAD drawings and the Bill of Materials (BOM) to maintain proper correlation across all documentation.

  Maintain accurate drawing register lists and track work progress in line with the project milestones.

• 3. Quality & Compliance

  Ensuring all drawings comply with applicable industry standards (ANSI, ISO, ASME Y14.5), the Company-specified protocols and best practice while prioritize required health and safety precautions.

  Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy and reliability in all drawings for production and service use.

• 4. Others

  Assist with additional technical tasks as assigned by the Line Manager or Management.

Requirements

• Possess at least a Diploma or Certificate in Design Engineering, Drafting, Mechanical Engineering or related field from a recognized Malaysian or international institution. Technical certification in CAD software or GD&T will be an added advantage
• Minimum 2 years of design engineering or drafting work in machinery or fabrication environments
• Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Technical Drawings in 2D & 3D. Deep Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD&T. Mechanical engineering fundamental & knowledge: purpose of BOM geometry, trigonometry, and basic physics (material properties, forces), machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, etc. Industrial Engineering standards: (e.g. ANSI, ISO, ASME Y14.5)
• High responsive, collaborative and executive-driven professional. Strong organizational skills, proactive, and result oriented. Able to handle stress within project timeline and maintain composure. Effective communication in English and other local languages.
