Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Engineering, Drafting or related field.

• Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and standards.
• GD&T knowledge and industry drawing standards understanding.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Drafter to join our team at Entegris (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah. As an Engineering Drafter, you will play a crucial role in translating engineering concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. This position is essential to our product development and manufacturing processes, ensuring that all designs are accurately represented and communicated across our engineering and production teams.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints and schematics using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software based on engineer specifications and requirements
• Review and interpret engineering sketches, technical specifications and design briefs to produce accurate and comprehensive drawings
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company guidelines and relevant engineering codes and regulations
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and manufacturing teams to clarify design requirements and resolve technical issues
• Update and modify existing drawings as required based on design changes, feedback or production requirements
• Maintain accurate and organised drawing files, documentation and version control systems
• Perform quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, completeness and adherence to specifications before release
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure drawings meet all technical and operational requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting enhancements to drafting processes and documentation standards

What we're looking for

• Diploma or higher qualification in Engineering, Drafting or a related technical field
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent tools
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, standards and best practices
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and precise drawings
• Solid understanding of technical documentation, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and industry drawing standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues
• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems is advantageous
• Experience in the semiconductor, electronics or advanced materials manufacturing industries would be beneficial
